I am currently working on a project for MSGC LAUNCH, a hands-on training program for students of 2 year colleges.  My topic stems from a marriage of my love of reptiles and programming.  I have chosen to develop a multifunction chameleon habitat care system fitted with temperature, humidity, motion, and camera sensors driven by a Raspberry PI unit.  This unit will measure the temperature and humidity in the habitat and allow the PI to switch daytime, nighttime lights, and the Mist King system on and off according to temperature and humidity levels.  The motion sensor will detect the presence of the chameleon and capture images.  This data will all be loaded on an onboard database and output to a website.  In case of an outage text or email notifications will be sent to the user.
